Waves of Transition
As we are coming closer to the end of this year I have been taking time to meditate on it, I honestly can say I feel I have lived about 7 lives in just this year! Think about this, to feel like you have lived 7 lives in less than 10 months is taxing. It means you have had some sort of change at least every month and a half.
I say this can be taxing because it can be hard emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally. The best way to describe it is like when someone is at the beach in the water and then knocked over by a wave, they get up with just enough time to catch one breath, and then another wave, and another and another… until you literally feel like you are exhausted, unable to catch a breath and about to drown. Can you imagine how thoughts of losing your life can bombard your mind letting emotions get heightened. Transitions are taxing.
There have been major transitions and shifts in this hour. Some of you feel like this is too much, you can’t take any more of the shifts, any more of the loss or any more of the challenges. It has been challenge after challenge. Right when you finally come up for air, it’s like another wave comes, another challenge. I want to encourage you; you are not alone.
While looking at what has been this wave after wave, I was reminded of Amos 9:13-15 in the Message translation.
“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities.
They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine.
They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables.
And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land.
They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”God, your God, says so.
As you were feeling like you were drowning, instead your head will swim in blessings. Where there was transition and challenge after transition and challenge, blessings upon blessings!
The transition and challenges have not been in vain. The losses have not been in vain. Blessings are here one after the other. Blessings will come to those who believe.
Believe you are being planted and no longer be tossed back and forth by the waves of adversity. You will be planted, rooted and swimming in blessings.
Blessings are coming to those who believe!
