Let Go and don’t Look Back

As we enter the last month and weeks of this year, I keep hearing, “let go and don’t look back.”

Many have been feeling the shift, a new season upon us, and the in between. You have been feeling the new coming for a long time now, and finally it feels like it’s about to show up. But what I hear in the Spirit is, “Let Go.”

I am here to say, let go! Let go of the old and let go of the past. Let go of the pain, let go of the disappointment, let go. Let go of the expectations you had, both of yourself and of others. Let go of your dreams and plans that have not panned out, stop striving! There are also some relationships you need to let go of, friends that you need to let go of. They simply are not letting you grow and are keeping you bound to your past.

Some need to let go of the “good.”  Let go because God has plans that are better and greater!

It feels hard to let go because you cannot see what is in store, you cannot see what is ahead and you cannot see where to go! This is why it is difficult to let go.

This is the time to let go.

As I wrote that last sentence, I had a vision of the dandelion seed head and wind blowing the seeds. This is what it is, let go so that the seeds can be blown away and planted in the right place, so that the seeds of the old season can be taken in the wind where only God knows they need to be.

The second thing I kept hearing was, “Don’t look back.” Recently my housing changed, a friend packed my car. When we were done and ready to go, I got in my car to drive to the new location.  At some point in my drive I looked in the rearview mirror and realized my accent chair was completely blocking my view. Immediately I heard, “I said don’t look back.”

This is the time to focus and set your eyes forward. What is done is done, what didn’t happen didn’t happen. Some of you are still thinking, “I wish this would have happened, or I wish that would have happened.” Let go! Let go of the disappointment, let go. It is in the past. It is time to move forward. Look ahead for what is good and what God has for you.

It is time to take a deep breath, shake off the dust and take the step forward.
